You do have amazing fall color foliage destinations in and around Dallas – let me start with that.
This was our first fall in Texas after moving from New England area and there was an obvious disappointment when it comes to fall colors here. One – they arrive very late and two – not much of scenery around to enjoy the colors (note that my baseline is new England fall colors).
So, I started researching on the best places around and finally decided to venture out to the best scenic drive – The Talimena Scenic Byway.
This road trip covered 3 states (Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas) around 460 miles in 12 hours. This Scenic byway starts from a place called “Talhina” in Oklahoma and cuts across the border of Arkansas and ends at a town called “Mena” (hence the name TaliMena) in Arkansas.
On the way back, we stopped at the beaver bend state park in Broken Bow, Oklahoma to capture the amazing reflections from the broken bow lake. Here are some captures from the amazing road trip.
